The Oakwood Historical Society and Wright Memorial Public Library present “The Classic Architecture of Oakwood.” The program is designed to raise awareness and appreciation of Oakwood’s architecture. Mark Risley, current president of the Historical Society, will discuss some of Oakwood’s well-preserved homes and public buildings, which represent the best of 20th century architecture in America.
The program is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
The Oakwood Historical Society and Wright Memorial Public Library present The Far Hills Speaker Series: Beyond the Flyer III – Dayton’s Aviation Heritage. This program encompasses the rich history and impact Dayton had on aviation throughout the years, and into the future. The speaker will be Janet Bednarek, an aviation historian, professor and former chair of the Department of History at the University of Dayton. The program is free and open to the public.
Device Users' Group
Tablets and other mobile devices are popular gifts, but they don't come with instruction manuals. Wright Library will hold a special session of the Device Users' Group on Thursday, December 26th to help new owners set up and begin using their mobile devices.
Wright Library, with support from the Oakwood Sister City Association, is fortunate again this year to receive several crèches for display during the month of December. The crèches are on loan from the University of Dayton's Marian Library - International Marian Research Institute, whose collection includes thousands of nativities reflecting a variety of customs and traditions.

Using supplies in the Children's Room, Friday, November 29 - Sunday, December 1, you can write a card or draw a picture to military personnel, their families, and veterans. Place your completed card or picture in the "Holiday Mail for Heroes" basket by December 1, and Mrs. Mills will ensure delivery before Christmas.
