Far Hills Speaker Series - "Oakwood: Our Home on the Hill"

The Oakwood Historical Society and Wright Library will be showing "Oakwood: Our Home on the Hill”.  This charming documentary and history of Oakwood was created in Oakwood's centennial year, 2008.  The video includes a pictorial history of the 1925 construction of Schantz Avenue, the 1923 Smith School Circus, the 1944 Harman School Maypole and much, much more.  It also features the unique architecture of Oakwood with pictures of Oakwood homes - then and now.  If you enjoy living in Oakwood, you won't want to miss this presentation.

Note: DVDs of the video will be available for purchase.

Device Users' Group

Device Users' GroupThe Monday Device Users' Group is being discontinued.  The last Monday meeting will May 12th at 7:30 p.m.  The Thursday meetings (on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays  at 1:30 p.m.) will continue.  If you are unable to make the Thursday Device Users' Group meeting times, please contact Brian in the AV Department to schedule a more convenient time for one-on-one instruction.  Call (294-7171) or email.

The Users' Group is meant for users of any electronic media device, whether a tablet (e.g. iPad, Nexus), an ereader (e.g. Kindle, Nook), mp3 player (e.g. iPod, Sansa Clip), or even a smartphone (so many).  Bring your device and any passwords you will need to access content sources (i.e. Kindle users - Amazon account information).

On the theory that two or more brains are better than one and that if you are experiencing a problem, someone else is too, Wright Library offers a forum for users to gather and exchange information, helping each other find solutions.  This group is for novices, as well as for those with more experience, perhaps with a specific problem to solve.  In addition, a librarian experienced with numerous devices will be present to offer assistance and provide access to users' guides and other helpful resources.
