The Literature of Mad Men

The Literature of Mad MenDrew Strombeck PhD
Wright State University professor Andrew Strombeck, Ph. D., will discuss the literature of Mad Men, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. Strombeck, who teaches a course on the subject at Wright State University, uses the show as a framework to help students better understand ‘60s culture. Says Strombeck, “The show offers audiences a view of historical events from the perspective of ordinary people. The books people read form part of this history.” Using Mad Men as a framework, the lecture will touch on how the literature of 1960-70 reflected the historical events of the decade. Fans of both the show and the time period will enjoy this program. A curated selection of the literature will be available for checkout.
